🚫 The Decision to Ditch Social Media
Black Unicorn Education does A LOT of AI training in the Tampa Bay community. However, looking at our LinkedIn and Facebook pages you’d think we only do a smattering of things here and there. We didn’t feel like we should have to “prove” that we are actually doing the work that we are doing by posting about it, so we decided to forego the “pressure to post” and focus on fine-tuning our business. Instead of spending time on writing the perfect post, we focused our time on making our business better. It’s a decision that ended up being pivotal for us in our relaunch.
🌟 About Our NEW North Star…
Our mission and who we serve has evolved over the past two and a half years since we founded the company. We started off with a mission "to train 1 Million Black Builders in AI” with a focus on high school and college students. Then “providing imaginative tech learning to give enterprising women a starting point in tech”. And we changed again to focus on small business owners and high performance leaders. This is my first time being an entrepreneur so finding my “market fit” according to all the business experts has been a bit daunting.
When none of that worked for me, I did what I should have did from the beginning— I prayed.
After a time of prayer and seeking GOD about what He wants to do with the company, our new mission is
We exist to bring truth in technology so people can flourish in a tech-driven world.
That’s it.
At the core of everything we do it’s about giving people the whole truth about technologies like AI: the helpful AND the harmful aspects, so they can be fully informed and make decisions that help them remain hopeful in the world.
Our mission guides everything we do:
Is it true? This requires us to do deep study, research, and preparation to ensure we are bringing the most accurate and complete information about technology to our clients. We go beyond the hype and the headlines to find the truth.
Does it make sense? Learning about tech shouldn’t be confusing, overwhelming, or intimidating. Black Unicorn Education’s goal is to “make tech, make sense” for everyone. We endeavor to make learning tech relatable, digestible, and actionable while having a little fun along the way!
Will it help people flourish? We believe technology should help to improve human life not deplete, diminish, or destroy it. Through our tech learning offerings we aim to prevent tech deception, dependence, and human disconnection by promoting clarity, capacity, and connection.
So with our new mission in hand— we are off to change the world! 🌎🌍🌏
No, that’s not an Amazon warehouse— it’s our dining room! 😅

What are we building?
In early 2025, Black Unicorn Education was awarded a $15K grant from BBIF, Fifth Third Bank, and Corporation to Develop Communities of Tampa to build a Mobile Tech Learning Lab as part of the East Tampa Neighborhood Small Business Grant Program! We are so honored to have been selected as an awardee and are using the funds to help serve more people in the East Tampa community and beyond.
Why a Mobile Tech Learning Lab?
Black Unicorn Education is committed to providing AI education to executive leaders, small business owners and small business resource providers, colleges and universities, commercial, not-for-profit, government, and faith-based organizations. We also do outreach to overlooked and underestimated communities, especially low-income communities that lack access to AI resources. We repeatedly walked into facilities that did not have devices such as laptops, reliable internet, or other technical infrastructure needed for an optimal learning experience by participants.
Rather than continuing to offer a diminished experience on cell phones or having participants watch as AI tools were demo’d for them, we envisioned a mobile tech learning lab to provide our clients with a fully hands-on experience with artificial intelligence systems independent of the amount of resources they possessed. We could then deliver a consistent, high-quality, memorable tech learning experience that is consistent with the Black Unicorn Education brand every place we go!
Who are we building it for?
Black Unicorn Education is here to serve LEADERS. Whether you’re leading a corporation, nonprofit, ministry, small business or at your job— we want to bring awareness about AI, help you advocate and create an action plan about how you will relate to AI in your work, business, community, and home.

BTS of our First Mobile Tech Learning Lab!
A future-forward ministry brought us in to teach their congregation about AI! We were delighted to partner with Revealing Truth Ministries Wesley Chapel as the inaugural client to pilot the launch of our Mobile Tech Learning Lab experience! Congregants young and old were captivated by the information they received and the opportunity to engage with AI through our signature hands-on learning stations. Our pilot was swimmingly successful and we now have additional opportunities for our tech learning lab in the pipeline!
